Earth Jurisprudence Lecture Series

The ‘Earth Jurisprudence’ (EJ) Lecture Series, introducing Earth Jurisprudence in Korea, is aimed at finding solutions to resolve the harmful consequences, which come from the current human-centered industrialization, and to implement an environment favorable to research and the fostering of new abilities. Since 2015, lecture series has been held four times a year in partnership with the Pro Bono Center of One Law Partners. This lecture series constitutes a training program for judicial officers, lawyers and law-students, and is accredited by the Korean Bar Association (KBA) and responsible for playing important roles in transforming governance-systems.

This year’s third Earth Jurisprudence lecture was held on October 17th at Seoul Bar Association’s Education and Culture Center given by Dr. Yoonjung Han (Researcher of the Claremont Institute for Process Studies) with the title of  “Experiment of Ecological Civilization - Can China Save the Earth?” Dr. Han talked about the progress of the ‘ecological civilization’ policy, which is pursued by the Chinese government as a core state policy, legal and institutional maintenance contents and the transition to a green country. Han also explained the position of China’s environmental governance, the controversy surrounding it, and implications for Korean society.
