Earth Jurisprudence Lecture Series

The ‘Earth Jurisprudence’ (EJ) Lecture Series, introducing Earth Jurisprudence in Korea, is aimed at finding solutions to resolve the harmful consequences, which come from the current human-centered industrialization, and to implement an environment favorable to research and the fostering of new abilities. Since 2015, lecture series has been held four times a year in partnership with the Pro Bono Center of One Law Partners. This lecture series constitutes a training program for judicial officers, lawyers and law-students, and is accredited by the Korean Bar Association (KBA) and responsible for playing important roles in transforming governance-systems.

2019 EJ Lecture 2. The Application of Earth Jurisprudence’s Perspective in Constitution and Economic Law

This year’s second Earth Jurisprudence lecture was held on April 15th at Yujae with the title of “The Application of Earth Jurisprudence’s Perspective in Constitution and Economic Law”.  Today the paradigm of environmental destruction and the sustainability of mankind is on the rise. The lecture looked at the limitations of the present Constitution and the economic law, why it is necessary to apply the new perspective of the Earth jurisprudence and which direction we should pursue. Dongsuk Oh, Ajou University School of Law covered the constitution part and Chung Hae Kang, University of Seoul School of Law covred the economic law part.
