Attending the 6th Interactive Dialogue of the General Assembly on Harmony with Nature 2016

On December 24, 2015, the UN General Assembly adopted Resolution 70/208 (A/RES/70/208). It’s the seventh resolution adopted by the General Assembly during its 70th session regarding Harmony with Nature. The Resolution calls for the UN Secretary General to promote Internet dialogue on Harmony with Nature in 2016. In this dialogue, Earth jurisprudence experts from around the world gathered to discuss how human beings and nature can achieve the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals and summarize them in the 71st General Assembly to be submitted. 

The internet conversations began on Earth Day on April 22nd 2016 and lasted until June 22nd 2016. It was divided into eight subdivisions and then divided again by region. The summary of the conversation was on August 1, 2016, UN General Assembly document A / 71/266. Korea participated for the first time this year in the 6th UN General Assembly Dialogue held every year since 2011. A total of 127 people participated in the dialogue this year and three experts from People for Earth (attorney Young-joon Kim, Tae-hyun Park and Eun-soon Choi) attended the Earth-centered Law field which had the largest number of participants among the eight categories. Areas other than Earth-centered law include ecological economics, education, holistic science, humanities, philosophy/ethics, art, media, design and architecture and theology/spirituality.
