People for Earth invited Dr. Mary Evelyn Tucker for its first Yujae Special lecture on February 12, 2019 at its new office, Yujae. Dr. Tucker and her husband Dr. John Grim carry on the legacy of Thomas Berry and are managing trustees of the Thomas Berry Foundation. Dr. Tucker is also co-founder and co-director of the Forum on Religion and Ecology at Yale and wrote “Journey of the Universe (2011)” with Dr. Brian Thomas Swimme.

“Journey of the Universe” summarizes the chronology of the Earth and human emerged from the space and inspires hope for a way in which Earth and its human civilizations could live harmoniously. This book and the Emmy award documentary film are a part of a larger project under the same title. Dr. Tucker and Dr. Swimme have run online courses with this book and documentary film as texts. In this lecture, Dr. Tucker talked about the meaning of the book “Journey of the Universe”, its implementation in the curriculum and shared her rich and varied experiences concluded by Q&A session with the audience.
